Ola responds to viral video of cab driver casually watching Big Boss reels while driving

A video showing an Ola cab driver watching videos of omelette recipes and Big Boss reels while driving through a busy Mumbai street has gone viral, sparking concerns about road safety. This footage has added to growing worries about distracted drivers, as similar incidents have been circulating on social media recently. The passenger who captured the video expressed alarm, claiming the driver was putting everyone’s life at risk.

Rohan Khule, the passenger who posted the video on X, commented: “Dear Ola, your driver is learning how to cook an omelette while driving, endangering our lives. Your scooters are already catching fire—please take action before this one meets the same fate and becomes ashes.”

The video, recorded by Khule from the backseat, shows the driver’s phone positioned near the steering wheel, displaying an omelette-making reel. The driver proceeds to swipe to the next video, which happens to be a clip from the popular TV show Big Boss, all while continuing to drive.

Along with condemning the driver’s irresponsible behavior, Khule also called out Ola, pointing to the ongoing issue of their scooters catching fire, which has sparked numerous complaints from customers.

In response to the viral video, the Mumbai Police took notice and reached out to Khule on X, requesting more specific information. They wrote, “Please share the exact location so we can inform @MTPHereToHelp. If the address is incomplete, please provide the full details.”
